100th Day of school

We started out the day, as we always do, in chapel. We had a special guest today - Granny Laxton (AKA Mrs. Laxton). Since she is 100 years old, we thought she would enjoy teaching the students the parable of the lost sheep.

Of course we had to count the sheep!  As you can see, there were only 99!

Granny Laxton searched and searched, just like the shepherd did, to find the lost sheep.

Here are my firsties with Granny Laxton!

Here's me and my dear old friend!

Here's Mrs. Cave & I with Granny.

Here are the kids making their 100-piece snack mix.  Yum!  They counted out ten pieces of ten different things.

Here's what the finished product looked like!

One of their project choices was to make a pair of 100 glasses.

Here are the students showing off their 100th day projects!  We have some very creative children (and parents!).

Some of the students completed their 100 gum balls project.

They turned out to be really cute!

The entire class did a full-in-the-blank activity about "If I were 100......"  I had an app that "aged" the students so they could look 100 years old. They are pretty hilarious!  The kids all giggled about how funny they looked.

It was a super busy day of celebrating the 100th day!  We did 100 exercises, watched Fancy Nancy's 100th Day of school, and got our new February calendar all transferred over to day 100!  We made 100 tally marks, too.  Tomorrow, it's back to our "normal" schedule.
