Back to School

Here are pictures of my new classroom (I had to move upstairs this summer)!  I actually love it up there - except for the fact that there are no restrooms up there for my little firsties. I'm getting used to not having windows. I can't wait until my new Promethean board comes in and gets installed!  My little ones can't reach the board for calendar time so I had to let them stand on something. That makes me a little nervous. I absolutely love this new group of kiddos and I'm excited about the new year. God always reveals new things to me each year through the children He sends to me.

Here's the area behind my small group teacher table.

I love my new cabinets!  I love that we painted chalkboard paint into the middle of them. That makes them so useful. I have my crazy schedule written on the top so that I can remember where to go and when. The bottom cabinets will be used for center time. I'm going to let the kids practice their spelling words on them!
Here's the view toward the door and my teacher table.
Here's my class library, my writing center, and Mrs. Ruby's desk (my awesome aide)!  I have to share her this year. :(

Beside the library, is my "bucket filling" area and then center supplies.

Here's the front of my room.

I love the two bulletin boards on each side of the Promethean board. I didn't have that downstairs. I also like how my "neighborhood signs turned out above the neighborhoods. It's pretty sweet to have 14 students as opposed to 22 at the beginning of last year!  I'm excited!

Here's a blurry, but closer look at my Daily 5 center area.
Here's a view of my word wall on my dry-erase board and my computer center area.

Another blurry picture, but I love the leveled book library and the fun bookworm above it!

Here are the Boggle letters and my "raise your hand" procedure sign. It's working out great!

Mrs. Ruby's friend that attends Bible class with her, was able to monogram the backpacks with the students' numbers!  I have red numbers and Mrs. Dunagan, the new first grade teacher, has green numbers. We are so limited in space and these are so perfect!
The wrinkled ribbons in the doorway are driving me crazy!  I was hoping the wrinkles would fall out!

I really love my new home away from home and I hope the new firsties are going to love it as well. My goal is to always make the room inviting and kid-friendly.
Fist pump to everyone!  It's going to be a great year!
