Apple Celebration!!!!

On Friday, the students participated in their first science experiment with apples.  First, they had to make a hypothesis. Which solution would allow the apple slice to keep its color the longest.  The options were lemon juice, milk, water, or soda. The students wrote their hypothesis down and then the apples were left in the solution until almost lunch time. Then we all got together in Mrs. Dunagan's class to observe the apples. The students drew pictures of the apples and checked to see if their hypothesis was correct.

After P.E., we had our apple party. The kids began by smashing a biscuit out with their fingers.  Next, they added the sweet apples that we had cooked in our classrooms all day. They folded the dough over and pinched the edges together. Mrs. Kelsey baked them in the oven.

Mr. Chambers, the Spanish teacher, came to join us since our party was during Spanish. He taught the kids many Spanish words about apples.

Next, the kids tested their apple baskets to see how many apples they could hold.
