Fall leaves and contractions 10/7/15

Our fall leaf craft looked so beautiful that I just had to share a picture. We hung them on our tree in the hall. We shared the tree with the other first grade. Here it is:

Here is a student writing contractions on the Promethean board. We have 2 trains on a track that "crash" into each other.  "He" and "is" crash and the "i" has to go to the "hospital". The apostrophe goes where the "i" once was to make the contraction "he's".
