Homecoming and Red Ribbon week

This week was Red Ribbon and Homecoming week!  It was very busy, yet very fun!  This first picture is of Mrs. Cave and Mrs. Laxton measuring to see how much our pumpkin vine has grown.

This is a picture of Raz the drug dog who came to visit and tell us about saying "no" to drugs.

This is Mrs. Fennel with a praying mantis on her finger!  She told us all about them during chapel.

Here are the kids during partner reading time!  Yes, we did manage to get some work done this week!

Here is the helicopter from OBN.  We got to watch it leave!  It was so cool!  (literally!)

Here is a Hummer that was seized from a drug dealer and is now being used to stop illegal drug use.

Here is Scout, who showed off his skills of being able to detect which can had drugs inside.

Below are pictures of the kids getting inside the other Hummer that is used for disaster relief efforts.  The entire class could fit inside there!  Maybe OCA needs a Hummer like this!

This is Swoop, our Eagle Mascot, at the pep rally (or pepper rally as some of them say!)

Here are the cheer clinic girls getting ready to do their cheers!  They did a great job!

Here are some of the kids doing the Dinosaur Stomp with Koo Koo Kanga Roo!  (I need to work on my video recording skills!)

Crazy, busy week!

We had a crazy, busy week!  Here's a recap of what we did!

Mrs. Cave taught us all about the life of Moses during chapel this week!

Mrs. Laxton kept us updated on the growth of our pumpkin plant!

She taught us a lot of science words.  We will be observing this every day during chapel time.

We enjoyed a visit from an author!  She read one of her books to us and the kids loved it!

We practiced our spelling words using sidewalk chalk!

The Fun Run was on Friday.  The kids had lots of fun in the bouncy houses!

Mrs. Haywood had a table set up for face painting.

These sweet friends got their faces painted.

On Wednesday, the class went to the Orr Family Farm (without me).  I am so blessed to have great parents and Mrs. Ruby to step in and help out.  I heard it was a great day!

Look at all those pumpkins!

Thanks to parents and Mrs. Ruby for supplying me with pictures!

Hay ride time!

Great friends!

Excellent pumpkin choice!

Here we are singing the "penny song".

Here are some students doing the "monkey" during snack and "brain break" time.

Mr. Clark's class visit

Mr. Clark's class had an assignment to make a book of their favorite Bible story with illustrations and then share it with some OCA students. Here are some pictures of the sharing time.   The first graders loved it!  My son, Caleb, is in the first picture!
